Sustainable Project - Water Group

A view of the exhibit with my water meter design.

Posted by Picasa I designed an indoor water meter that could monitor the consumption of a typical household. The meter measures the consumption by day, month and year.

Sketch from Westminster Abbey - Mother and Child by Henry Moore

I sketched this and the next dwg at Notre Dame during a organ and opera concert. It was the greatest atmosphere for sketching inspiration.

A painting that I loved. I think that the red chair in the painting is dynamic and is the only thing that really defines the mother and children from the background.

I came out of the Lourve in a bizarre and secluded area. It was awesome. I took tons of photos because the architecture was so different than what I had seen anywhere else inside the Lourve.

For Da Vinci Code fans everywhere. This is where Mary Magdaline is said to be buried below this apex.

We went to an architects exhibit in Paris and observed different ways to exhibit or showcase work. The building had a great open-framed ceiling. Posted by Picasa

The Goddess Nike at the Lourve. This sculpture had amazing detail and movement. Her wings were so stunning at this angle.

Yeah architecture! This was such an out of place and unexpected area for beautiful architecture at the Lourve.

When I arrived at the Lourve it was hot and humid almost like a storm was ready to break. When it did I was inside at the perfect location to see the Pyramid from up above. Everyone taking cover from the rainstorm allowed me to get a great and unpopulated photo which I would think is a rare occurance.

Inside of the Lourve which used to be parking before I.M Pei help to enliven the museum again.Posted by Picasa

I took this photo inside of Notre Dame. I thought that the hinges were unusually shaped.

One of the few remaining Hector Guimard metro station enclosures from the Art Nouveau period.

This is the Citi metro station taken after we went to the concert at Notre Dame. The repetitious light fixtures were just too great of a design to pass up even if it turned out a little dark.

Spiral staircases are my weakness. These are inside I.M Pei's Pyramid at the Lourve. The best feature of these stairs is the central section that is an elevator used for ADA accessibility.

This is a photo of the archway going into Notre Dame.

A door at Notre Dame. It is insanely elaborate.

The windows that I loved most out of all the cathedrals I visited in Europe.

A view of the inside of Notre Dame. It was of grand scale and design.Posted by Picasa

This exhibit reminded me of the credits from Lemony Snickets.

I saw this graffitied stairwell in a Parisian subway. I believe I we were on our way to the Sacre' Cour. Graffiti is truly an artform.

I thought that this street lined with scooters was very telling of the either country's stance on the environment or space issues.

Notre Dame - We toured the inside and then bought tickets to attend a operatic and organ concert the next night so we were able to see it st different times of the day. The stained glass windows had the most brilliant shade of blue in them. I liked seeing it at night all lit up outside and all dark and mysterious inside. We all sketched during the concert and I loved how my sketches turned out.Posted by Picasa

This was a room full of abstract sculptures at the Pompidou Center. They were interesting in seperate pieces but powerful and dynamic as a whole.

Alto Alvar Chair - I was excited to see this but am not sure whether it was an original or not. It was really fun to see its dimensions and shape in real life. I love great design.

I honestly don't remember who the artist was which is so sad. I guess it may have been Matisse since I was inamoured by his paintings that day.

I adore this! The disproportionate woman who appears to be holding up her hands to protect herself from something or someone. It communicates so loudly.Posted by Picasa
